3,4,5 June 2022
The 11th edition of the Fontainebleau Art History Festival will take place on Friday 3, Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 June 2022 with Portugal as guest country. The unifying theme chosen this year is the Animal. Researchers, curators, artists, art world professionals, publishers and students from France, Portugal and elsewhere will be on hand to share their knowledge of the arts, to retrace the history of images and objects and reveal their meanings, and to pass on their passion and their profession.
As every year since 2011, the Festival offers conferences, round tables, dialogues and debates, sessions on current heritage issues, film screenings in the Cinema Section, workshops, activities and visits, the "My thesis in 180 seconds" competition and the Book and Art Journal Fair.
The programme is intended to be both accessible and demanding, aimed at the general public, offering presentations in a variety of formats while favouring thematic routes. The Festival is also aimed at professionals in the history of art and the art professions through professional meetings and at secondary school teachers through the Spring University.
